About the Symptom
Sleep apnea is a potentially serious disorder in which breathing repeatedly stops or there is reduced air flow during sleep. It may be due to the brain not trigging breathing effectively (central) or more commonly due to blockage by a structure in the nose, mouth, or throat (obstructive).
